This beautiful converted farmhouse comfortably sleeps up to 25 people, making it the perfect getaway location for larger groups of family or friends or a stunning venue for a special event. The house sits on a gentle hillside overlooking its own 100 acres of olive groves, with a spectacular (20m) swimming pool in its own walled enclosure adjacent to the house. There are a range of single/twin/ double rooms all with en-suite facilities, plus a dormitory room suitable for children, and a master bedroom with direct access to the pool. In the pool area there is plenty of sunbathing space, two lawns, a water fountain and a table tennis table. A beautiful awning supported by antique Indian pillars provides much needed shady spots during the midday sun. There is a lovingly maintained courtyard garden full of flowers and fragrant herbs, to the back of the house (where the sun sets) there is a terrace with a bbq and outdoor pizza oven, and tables to accommodate the whole group at mealtimes. Many of the rooms at El Cachete have original features (and some eccentricities!), in general the rooms are simple but comfortable in the Spanish style with terracotta floors and whitewashed walls. There is a large central living room with a bar area, TV/dvd/ipod speakers, a piano and a table football table. A well equipped kitchen has professional stainless steel food preparation areas, a large electric cooker, fridges/freezers and a dishwasher etc. The local area is famous for its beauty: rolling hills criss-crossed by a network of tracks, dotted with little villages, and full of wildlife. The nearest village (with local cafes, shops and bars) is just a 5 min drive away, and the historic town of Loja is just 15 minutes away, while the bustling ancient city of Granada and the beaches of Malaga are both less than an hour away. Alternatively we can bring the culture to you with organised flamenco/paella nights at the house.

El Cachete is much more than just a rental property, at times throughout the year this is our family home so it is full of books, games and music that you are welcome to enjoy when you come to visit. We hope you feel as at home here as we do!
