Gran Alacant is situated on the Costa Blanca in the province of Alicante. Located just a 10 minute drive south from the Alicante airport and 15 minutes from the cosmopolitan and historic city of Alicante, the provincial capital.

The area, which enjoys 320 days of sunshine each year, is said by the World Health Organisation, to be one of the healthiest places in the world in which to live..

This delightful upstairs, part air conditioned apartment has stunning panoramic views of the Sierra Mijana mountains, and across the bay of Alicante to the city of Alicante.
The lounge is air conditioned, and all three bedrooms have ceiling fans for those hot summer months. The apartment also has satellite tv, with over 70 channels. The bathroom contains a bath (with shower over), WC, basin, and bidet.

There is a choice of three communal swimming pools, and there is also a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. The clinic, and tourist information are also close by. Gran Alacants' Street Market is held every Thursday.

The superb sandy beach is just a five minute drive away, or a twenty minute walk down a fairly steep winding road. If the walk back seems daunting, simply hop on the road train and take the easy way back, it stops just a couple of minutes walk from the apartment.
The Tren Turistica (tourist train), is a good way to get around the resort. It runs all year round from 10 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon and then from 4 in the afternoon until 8 in the evening. In the summer months the train service starts at 9 in the morning and ends at midnight.

Birdwatchers will also enjoy following the clearly marked footpaths in the Clot de Gavany (Nature Park), as there are many species to be seen at all times of the year. At the top of the hill take a leisurely stroll to the lighthouse and enjoy the cliff top views.

Benidorm, with its huge water park Aqualandia, Mundo Mar (sea world), and Terra Mitica theme park is only forty minutes away by car, or take one of the special coaches that operate in the summer months.

SPORTS

There are numerous sporting activities nearby, including Golf, Scuba diving, Parascending and Bowls.

Dive Academy, situated in Santa Pola is a PADI 5 Star IDC and BSAC training centre, offers daily fun dives. Lots of it's dive sites are situated around Isla de Tabarca. They also offers all PADI courses, and, even if you have never dived before, offer a Snorkel Safari, a great day out for the whole family!
Parascending can also be arranged locally.
