The municipality of Amarante is part of the Romanesque (Rota do Romanico)and Green Wine (Vinho Verde) Routes, as well as being only 30 km from the Douro wine region (UNESCO world heritage)and river cruises along the Douro river and its grape filled terraced views.

The house is built to the highest standards with enormous windows in every room that frame the river and the fruit tree and flower filled property. With the use of natural materials such as wood and stone the house is in complete harmony with its surroundings.

It has most modern amenities such as tvs in every room, internet access, double glazed windows, heated floors and a jacuzzi in the main bathroom on-suite.

On the exterior adjoining the house and facing the river there is an enormous covered varanda with a barbecue, counter and sink. It is furnished with confortable cushioned sofas, hammocks and a table and benches.

Outside the kitchen, under an oak tree there is a patio, with a table that seats 12 for alfresco meals.

Guests can be transported to and from the airport, and hired vehicles or guided tours can be organised. (Please contact us for suggestions).
